'Final Fantasy IV Advance' is a console role-playing game developed by TOSE for the Game Boy Advance and PlayStation platforms. The games' Game Boy Advance version was released by Square Enix in Japan on December 15, 2005, in Europe on June 2, 2006, and in Australia on February 23, 2006; and by Nintendo in North America on December 12, 2005. The game was ported from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) with slight changes in the music and graphics. It was initially released in Japan in the Super Famicon.
'Final Fantasy IV Advance' is Final Fantasy's first game that introduced the well-known active-time battle (ATB) system.
It is a time indicator for every party member that informs the player during combats when this character is able to work. If the player takes a long time selecting a command for the character, the foe will act with no waiting for the player's turn. The game deserts the job system that was carried out in the first and third game in favour of stipulated character classes (white mage, paladin, ninja, etc.) designated to every party member. The game also added two new dungeons: a cave at Mt. Ordeals and the Lunar Ruins. The first one features stronger weapons and powerful armours for five added characters, and the Lunar Ruins can only be accessed in the last part of the game.
The games' graphics has been enhanced from its original SNES version. Once the game has been completed, a music player will be unlocked. Lastly, the quicksave feature permits the player to save the game temporarily at whatever time.
