'Mega Man Star Force' is an action role-playing game developed and published by Campcom Co., Ltd. for the Nintendo DS handheld video game console. It was released in Japan on 14 December 2006, in North America on 7 August 2007, in Australia on 7 November 2007, and in Europe on 30 November 2007 in three separate subtitled versions: Dragon, Leo, and Pegasus. Each version provides an exceptional transmutation of Mega Man, with basis upon the satellites, such as Green Dragon, Fire Leo, and Ice Pegasus. Each transformation has a special attack called "Star Force Big Bang", which can substantially unleash a shattering super move, which draws on their individual element.
The story is set in the year 22XX, when Mega Man must battle against villains on Earth and fight with incoming aliens called the Warlocks. The gameplay features two co-existent worlds. In the game, the player can travel to the actual world and take control of Subaru Hoshikawa, a boy whose astronaut father has mysteriously disappeared after an incident at the satellite station. Subaru transforms as Mega Man to travel across electromagnetic waves known as the Wave Road, which exists in the real world but is only visible to those from the mysterious planet FM.
The game allows each player to customise their profile, organise folders, and more in his/her personal page. Each player has six cards, which are part of his/her profile. Battle cards have one of the five elemental attributes: water, wood, fire, electricity or neutral. Each element is stronger than one and weaker than another.
In terms of sales, the Pegasus version is the most popular and the Leo version is the least. Despite the game's minor improvements, there is no significant difference than other GBA Battle Network games.
