The Slugger

The Slugger

'The Slugger' was developed by Platinum Productions and published by Imagine. This game was introduced on the market in 1985 for the Commodore 64 platform. This game can be played by a single player or multi players. 'The Slugger' allows the player to play baseball matches and compete with other players or with the computer.

This game is a baseball simulation where a player can match in 3, 6 or 9 innings. The player can choose from 3 different skill levels provided by the computer. The game-play is similar to that of an arcade game. When fielding, the player closest to the ball automatically holds the control.

Players can customise each of the team's colours, steal bases and pitch curve balls. At a certain point of the game, when players have land an inning, cheerleaders with various slogans and advertising boards appear.

The gameplay is simple, so players will not have a hard time winning this game. It's really easy to win the matches because no obstacles are present. The graphics design is nice, but the overall gameplay of the game is not impressive. This game easily gets boring, so you won't find it enjoyable to play this game again. This is not one of those sport simulation games that has intense game-play. Players must not expect anything remarkable in this game because it does not give excitement at all. But if you just want to while away your time, you may play this game.
